How are veneers placed?

Placing veneers at Advantage Dental Care is typically a two-step process: 

First appointment

During the initial consultation, your dentist performs an oral exam and takes X-rays to determine your veneer placement. Next, they clean the tooth and find the perfect shade to match the rest of your teeth.

To prepare your tooth for a veneer, your dentist must remove a small portion of enamel. This helps make room for the veneer so it looks as natural as possible and blends in with the rest of your teeth. 

Before the end of your appointment, your dentist makes an impression of your tooth to fabricate the veneer, which typically takes around two weeks. During this time, you wear a temporary veneer so your tooth isn’t left exposed.

Second appointment

At your final appointment, your temporary veneer is removed and replaced with the permanent restoration. Your dentist cleans, pumices, and etches your tooth before cementing the veneer in place. They also trim and reshape any excess material to match the rest of your teeth.
